Course details
Intended for
Any person who is designated to undergo transfers in the Offshore Wind Industry; Shore-to-Ship; Ship-to-Boat; Boat-to-Windturbine and vice versa (Ship- & Boattransfers) . The course will not be registered in WINDA. If a GWO Sea Survival certificate is required we recommend you to book the GWO Sea Survival course.
Objectives
Participants will learn how to safely embark and disembark transfer vessels, stay on them safely, and use the transition piece of an offshore wind turbine (WTG), ship and dock in a safe manner.
Course content
- Boat Transfers including correct use of climbing harnesses, Self Retractable Lifeline (SRL) & Twin Fall Arrest Lanyards in the Transition Piece or Boat Landing attached to a vessel.
- The practical session will be carried out on the DHTC platform in the harbour entrance of Den Helder.
- Safety procedures and knowledge of Life Saving Appliances (LSA) at sea and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Theory of safe transfer from quay to ship, ship to boat and boat to WTG foundation (Transition Piece) and back, ‘Boat Transfers’.
- Practical of safe transfer from quay to ship, ship to boat and boat to WTG foundation (Transition Piece) and back, ‘Boat Transfers’.
